Control Panel
End-to-end architecture and interface design for the My20i control panel — from navigation systems through to checkout flows and dashboard widgets.
The brief called for a comprehensive rethink of how customers navigate a deeply feature-rich hosting platform. The challenge was surfacing the right tools at the right moment without overwhelming new users or frustrating power users who knew exactly what they needed.
Research informed every major decision. Baymard Institute and Nielsen Norman Group findings underpinned structural choices around the checkout flow, while direct customer sessions shaped the sidenav architecture. The result is a system that scales from beginner to expert without changing shape.

The sidenav replaced collapsible trees with flat labelled sections and persistent search, dramatically reducing time-to-task for the platform's most common journeys. A pin-to-favourites system gave power users the shortcut layer they'd always needed without cluttering the default experience.
Checkout was redesigned around mandatory account creation with Google and GitHub SSO as the primary path — removing friction at the point of highest abandonment risk while keeping the security model intact.
